This Area meeting will have a significant focus on our ongoing concern for Climate & Ecology. We will be bringing a proposal for a Bristol Quakers Declaration of Climate and Ecological Crisis as well as a minute from Redland LM asking us to discern the appropriate action in relation to a concern on Quakers and the ‘Stop Ecocide’ campaign .
There will also be the need to decide our next steps in relation to the ‘right holding of Area Meeting’ which has been considered by Local Meetings recently.
We shall also receive a number of reports, which are published in this newsletter .
On the same day as Area Meeting we are all invited to
Food for Thought – our response to the climate & ecological crisis
Sunday 23rd February, 12.15-1.45pm at Horfield
A workshop to connect with other Quakers of all ages and focus on what we’re called to do in the face of the crisis.
Please bring your own packed lunch and come with an open mind!
Some Friends will find it a challenge to get to Horfield by 12:15 from their local Meetings for Worship, so feel free to join Horfield for their worship which starts at 10:30 am. Horfield is well served by buses and detailed directions can be found on our website here.
